Hamadan

The town of Hamadan produces very few rugs itself but is the central gathering point and market place for the surrounding region. Dozens of villages in the immediate area produce rugs of their own individual character and design and are often labelled as such, but mostly they are sold abroad under the catchall term of 'Hamadan'. These rugs are often very robust and come in a wide range of designs, colours and sizes.
